LOVELAND, Colo. - No charges will be filed against a man who stabbed two people, killing one of them, after they followed him home, officials said.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office said a man left a party, just outside the Loveland city limits, on July 3 after an altercation.
Deputies said Stephanie Smith and Casey Albee followed him home.
Investigators believe Albee stabbed the partygoer. However, he was able to fight back.
Both Albee and Smith were stabbed. Smith died.
Albee is being charged with felony assault.
The man who was followed home is not being charged and, therefore, is not being identified.
"Those actions were determined to be in self defense," according to the sheriff's office.
Bond for Albee was set at $7,500.
