DENVER - A new jail photograph of the man accused of firing at police from a Cadillac shows the injuries he suffered in the crash that ended a police chase Friday.

Larry Gomez' bruises and cuts in the photograph only show part of the story. He was also shot by a Denver officer sometime during a car-and-foot chase that began in Denver and ended on Interstate 225 in Aurora, law enforcement sources told CALL7 Investigator John Ferrugia.

Gomez and a pursuing Denver police officer had crashed their cars on I-225 near Iliff Avenue after 7 p.m. Friday.

He jumped from the wreckage and ran, but Aurora and Denver officers soon caught him in a nearby industrial area, police said. He taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Gomez was wanted for shooting at Denver and Westminster police officers on consecutive nights. In both of those cases Gomez was said to be driving a Cadillac that was towed from an Aurora apartment complex just hours before Gomez was captured.
