BOULDER, Colo. - The carcass of a coyote has been found been found on University of Colorado South Campus land near Boulder.
University police spokesman Ryan Huff said Wednesday the animal had been shot in the head and its paws removed.
The Boulder Daily Camera reports the animal may have been killed at another location. The area is largely undeveloped, but it is close to university tennis courts.
Wildlife officials say it is legal to kill coyotes year-round in Colorado, but there are laws governing where they can be killed.
