ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colo. - More than a dozen people were caught in an avalanche at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area Saturday.
After an extensive search, all 15 people in the group were accounted for, said spokesperson Adrienne Saia Isaac.
One person was evacuated by toboggan because of a knee injury, Isaac said.
An Arapahoe Basin Ski Area patroller was leading the group in west Montezuma Bowl in terrain that was closed to the general public, Issac said.
The area where the slide occurred underwent extensive avalanche mitigation and explosive work by Arapahoe Basin Ski Patrol over the past two days and throughout the past week, Isaac said.
Arapahoe Basin and the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) are conducting a joint accident investigation.
