BROOMFIELD, Colo. - A large male moose was tranquilized and relocated after wandering around the streets of Broomfield Monday morning.
The moose was first spotted near Highway 36 and Main Street at about 8 a.m.
Officials with Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the moose is about 3 years old and weighs about 1,000 pounds. They believe it is the same moose spotted in the area last week.
He wandered through residential neighborhoods and in and out of residents' yards near West First Avenue and Laurel Street.
Wildlife officials hit the moose with a tranquilizer dart at about 10:30 a.m. and followed him until the drugs took effect and he sat down near Sheridan Boulevard and West 120th Avenue.
Officials loaded the moose into a truck to relocate it to an undisclosed moose habitat.
