Monday bank robbery suspect may also be responsible for previous robbery at same branch

MONUMENT, Colo. - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying a bank robbery suspect who may also be responsible for a previous robbery at the same branch.

The suspect entered the bank Peoples Bank located at 1899 Woodmoor Drive in Monument on Monday at 12:28 p.m. According to the Lt. Jeff Kramer, the suspect demanded and received cash before running from the bank.

The same branch was robbed on May 24 and Kramer says there are several similarities between the suspect's description and behavior in each robbery.

The suspect is described as a slim, white man who is between 6-foot and 6-foot-5 tall. During Monday's robbery he was wearing blue jeans, a dark long-sleeve shirt, a dark cap and glasses.

In addition to the suspect, Kramer says investigators would like information regarding any vehicles which may have stopped along the northbound shoulder of Interstate 25 in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call 719-390-5555.
