Missing Texas toddler found in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A toddler kidnapped in Texas earlier this year was found in Colorado Springs Wednesday night.

The boy's mother, Sabrina Zapata, told KRIS-TV that the boy's father, Gregory Sturdivant, took the now 20-month-old during what was supposed to be a visitation day in Corpus Christi and disappeared.

Colorado Springs Police said the boy was found at a home in the area of Pikes Peak Avenue and Chelton Road after officers received information that the child was in the area.

Police said the child was unharmed.

The boy's father was not with him. Sturdivant, 24, is wanted on several charges out of Texas, including failure to surrender a child, theft and possession of marijuana.

Police have not said why he came to Colorado Springs.
