DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. - A senior citizen missing from Fountain was found by a deputy early Thursday morning near Castle Rock, then disappeared again, and was found hours later after crashing in Pueblo County.
Christine Cameron Williams, 90, was heading from Brighton back to Fountain Wednesday night, but never made it home. Williams has Alzheimer's disease and has diabetes, the Colorado Department of Public Safety said.
Williams flagged down a deputy just before 1 a.m. near Castle Rock, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Williams told the deputy she stopped to get a sandwich and had simply lost track of time.
Deputies and medical personnel checked her welfare.
After they determined Williams was okay, authorities called her daughter, who said it was alright to let Williams drive home.
Hours later, Williams had still not arrived home, the Fountain Police Department reported.
At 7 a.m., authorities said they located Williams in Pueblo County.
Williams' family said she was involved in an accident and suffered minor injuries.
