The body of a hiker who went missing in Eldorado Canyon State Park has been found, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Officials told 7NEWS it is the body of David Robles.

Robles, 53, went on a day hike Saturday at the park between Golden and Boulder, but didn't return home.

Searchers have been looking for Robles since Saturday night and were led to the Rattlesnake Gulch area Wednesday by a tip from a woman who had seen him hiking there Saturday.

"So, we narrowed down [sic] the search area to where they last saw him," said Commander Heidi Prentup with the Boulder Sheriff's Department. "Around 12:20 p.m., they found him off the trail in an area that was very rugged."

Prentup said there were no signs of foul play, but would not speculate on whether he may have fallen to his death.

"His body will now be taken to the Coroner's office," said Prentup.

A family friend 7NEWS reporter Jaclyn Allen spoke with said Robles is survived by his wife, a college-aged daughter and high school-aged son.

Robles was an accountant for a university.

"The family has closure now," said Prentup. "It's not a good way to find him, but the family doesn’t have to keep looking."
