Milliken cut off, access to Johnstown limited, Weld County declares disaster emergency

WELD COUNTY, Co. - Weld County Commissioners held a special meeting Friday morning and unanimously passed a resolution declaring a disaster emergency in Weld County, according to the Greeley Trbune.

Access to Milliken is cut off and Johnstown is limited, according to Weld County Sheriff's Office spokesman Steve Reams.

Alisa Lane in Milliken told 7NEWS officials have evacuated a trailer park in Milliken.

Another viewer told 7NEWS that the National Guard is in town directing traffic.

The Town of Milliken is where the Little Thompson River and the Big Thompson River merge.

Reams said Milliken, Johnstown, Evans and Kersey will likely see more flooding throughout the day on Friday.

The City of Evans sent a reverse notification call to residents between Highway 85 and the South Platte River on Friday morning warning them about possible flooding from the South Platter River.

The South Platte River has flooded south of Evans, and at least two homes have flooded with residents being evacuated at Industrial Parkway, the Tribune reported.
