LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. - The body of a 25-year-old hiker found on Longs Peak has been recovered.
Matthew D. Burklow of Fort Collins planned to summit the peak in Rocky Mountain National Park on Monday but never returned.
His body was found Tuesday but bad weather delayed the recovery mission.
Burklow's body was found 1,000 feet below the Keyhole Route. It's a popular, but challenging route. It crosses some sheer vertical rock faces and falls there can be fatal.
It was not immediately clear if Burklow died on the ascent or descent.
