PD: Workers hid in safe during attempted robbery of marijuana dispensary in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- When two would-be robbers tried to break into a marijuana dispensary, the workers found a safe place to hide -- the store's safe.

The workers told Colorado Springs Police that two men tried to force open a door at the dispensary on Platte Place, near Platte Avenue and Circle Drive, at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

"The workers placed themselves in a safe while the suspects continually, yet unsuccessfully, kicked the door," Colorado Springs Police said.

The suspects eventually gave up and ran off, officers said.

Police have not released pictures or descriptions of the suspects.
