Researchers at the University of Northern Colorado will be texting some students about their marijuana use.

The Tribune of Greeley reports that three psychology professors are embarking on a three-year study on marijuana use among college students. They will gather most of their data from text messages sent three times a day for two weeks to about 150 students.

UNC clinical psychologist and associate professor Kristina Phillips says they hope to track how marijuana use affects students' motivation for studying and moods.

After the students respond to texts for two weeks, researchers will track the students for a full year to see if the students stay at UNC, drop classes or if their GPA changes.
