Deputies said a man from Colorado was arrested in Nebraska with 515 pounds of high-grade marijuana.

The street value of the drugs? More than $2.5 million.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said a K-9 alerted to the smell of narcotics coming from a Dodge Ram pickup truck in a parking lot last Thursday. Deputies found the driver in a nearby business, then searched the truck.

Inside in the truck bed, deputies said they found four moving boxes, four large duffel bags, and a large blue tote containing individual, heat-sealed, pound bags of high-grade marijuana.

Steven McElmury, 68, of Western Colorado, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. He was cited for possession of money in violation of 28-416 and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies said the investigation into the source of the marijuana and the intended destination is ongoing.
