BOULDER, Colo. - A 51-year-old man has acknowledged his role in a crash that killed a 1-year-old girl in Broomfield.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports Timothy Clayton of Westminster appeared in court Friday and pleaded guilty to careless driving resulting in death and careless driving resulting in injury. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 26.

Investigators say Clayton was towing a trailer with his SUV on U.S. 287 on Oct. 14 when he rear-ended a car driven by Michele Pincus, who was visiting from Los Angeles. Pincus suffered serious injuries, and her daughter, Nedra, died at a hospital.

Clayton faces a maximum of two years in the Boulder County jail.
