Man in motorized wheelchair killed in Aurora crash

AURORA, Colo. - A man in a motorized wheelchair was struck and killed in Aurora Sunday night.

Aurora Police told 7NEWS the man was not in a crosswalk when he was struck at while crossing Smoky Hill near Buckley just after 8 p.m..  The area where he was crossing was dark, police said.

The female driver of the pick-up truck involved in the crash remained at the scene, according to police.

The man's wheelchair could be seen under the pickup truck in the middle of Smoky Hill. Debris from the crash could be seen behind the pickup.

The road was still closed at 10 p.m.

Police said no drugs or alcohol were involved.
