Man fatally shot by Greeley Police in prostitution sting

GREELEY, Colo. - A man was fatally shot by Greeley Police during a prostitution sting Wednesday afternoon.

Police said officers were conducting an undercover operation at a Greeley motel when one of the "customers" of the undercover female officer was confronted by police who attempted to arrest him. Police said he pulled a handgun and was shot and killed at about 5 p.m.

No police officers were injured.  

The identity of the man was not released.

The shooting is being investigated by members of the Weld County District Attorney’s Office and the Greeley Police Department’s Investigations and Professional Standards Unit.
