Man dies after crashing into warehouse; teen passengers couldn't save him from burning wreck

Police: Man believed to be teens' father

LONGMONT, Colo. - A 34-year-old Longmont man died after his vehicle crashed into a warehouse, and his two teenage children couldn't save him when a major fire erupted.

Longmont Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur says the 15-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl escaped unharmed after the crash Wednesday afternoon.

Satur says he believes the the driver was their father, Carlos Bustillos. The teens tried to pull him from the vehicle but were thwarted by the flames and smoke.

The teens told police their father may have had a seizure. Satur says the vehicle stopped at an intersection and then accelerated into the warehouse.

News photos and helicopter video showed heavy smoke and flames engulfing the 32,000-square-foot metal building.

No other injuries were reported.
