DENVER - The man who allegedly fired into a crowd and killed a 47-year-old father outside a Denver nightclub now faces murder charges.
Denver District Attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said Marvin Rosario-Lopez, 24, was charged Friday with first-degree murder after deliberation and first-degree murder with extreme indifference.
Rosario-Lopez was allegedly involved in a fight near 11th Avenue and Lincoln Street around 1 a.m. Nov. 3. Kimbrough said he is accused of pulling out a gun and shooting Ronald Smith, who later died of the wound.
Kimbrough said Rosario-Lopez was detained by security guards at the scene, and was taken into custody by Denver police.
He is being held in the Denver Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in Denver District Courtroom 5H on November 13, 2012.
