Man charged with first-degree murder in deadly Aurora stabbing

AURORA, Colo. – The suspect in a deadly stabbing that happened Monday near an Aurora mobile home park was formally charged with first-degree murder Friday.

Jose Luis Lozoya, 24, faces one count of first-degree murder after deliberation for his alleged stabbing of Alonzo Devault, 18.

The deadly stabbing happened just after noon Monday in a parking lot just south of the Hillcrest Village mobile home. Devault was found with multiple stab wounds and died after being taken to an area hospital.

Lozoya is being held without bond after his formal advisement happened Friday. He is next due in court for his preliminary hearing Feb. 21.

Aurora police are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to contact Detective Jamie Krieger at 303-739-6113.
