DENVER - A 32-year-old man was formally charged Tuesday in a hit-and-run that killed a Buckley A.F.B. airman.
Michael Snyder, 23, died on April 10, when the motorcycle he was riding was hit from behind near the intersection of East Alameda Avenue and South Monaco Parkway at about 10:20 p.m. Snyder was thrown from his motorcycle and did not survive, police said.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey formally charged William Pettapiece, 32, with one count each of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and one count of driving under the influence.
Pettapiece was released from custody after posting a $50,000 bond. He is due back in court on April 25 for his second advisement.
