Fort Collins barricade situation ends with suspect in custody

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Fort Collins police say a 6-hour barricade situation has ended.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported the suspect surrendered shortly before 3:45 p.m. without incident.

Police had asked the public to avoid the area around the 400 block of Vivian Street, due to the ongoing situation.

Homes up to 200 yards from the man’s residence had  been evacuated and traffic was closed on northbound Kyle Street and Vivian Street during the barriade.

The man is said to be suicidal, according to police, who said no one had been injured.

The incident began around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
