Man attacked and robbed in Denver motel, forced to withdraw money from ATM

Denver police thank Aurora officers for help

DENVER, Colo. - A man was attacked and robbed inside a motel room in Denver, then forced to use his ATM card to withdraw cash.

It happened Monday at a motel on E. Colfax Ave., near the border with Aurora, according to the Denver Police Department.

Aurora police officers happened to see three men acting suspiciously at the ATM and a few blocks east of the motel.

"The two suspicious parties were nervously looking in all directions, while the third seemed to be in distress," the Denver Police Department posted on its Facebook page.

Aurora police officers stopped the men and called Denver police to investigate.

"Thanks to the keen eyes of the Aurora Police Officers, Denver Police Officers were able to take the suspects into custody for investigation of robbery," Denver police said in the Facebook post.

Investigators did not say whether the men involved knew each other or if it was a random attack.
