DENVER - Five people were struck by the same car just after midnight Thursday in southwest Denver and police have a suspect in custody.
According to Denver Police, officers responded to 2321 W. Evans Ave. on a report of two people struck by a car. When officers arrived, they found five people who appeared to have been struck.
All five victims were rushed to the hospital. Three of them had serious injuries but none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, police said.
Detectives learned the victims were involved in an argument with a man inside the Stars 2 Bar at that location. The argument spilled out into the parking lot and the suspect drove a 2004 Dodge Status at the victims, to intentionally strike them, police said.
John Martinez, 21, was arrested a short time later at his home in Lakewood. He is currently being held for investigation of first-degree assault.
