Man and woman accused of forcing woman into prostitution now face sex trafficking charges in Denver

DENVER - A man and woman in Denver have been charged with sex trafficking for allegedly forcing a woman into prostitution, prosecutors said Friday.

Edwin J. Coriano, 37, and Alena E. Rust, 22, are each charged with trafficking in adults, pimping, and pandering, all felonies, the Denver District Attorney's Office said in a news release.

The charges allege that they brought a 28-year-old woman from Missouri to Denver and forced her to perform acts of prostitution, our partners at the Denver Post reported.

The pair were arrested June 19 at a Denver motel.

They both remain in custody and their bond has been set at $10,000 each. Coriano and Rust were advised Thursday of the charges against them and their next court hearing is scheduled on July 15.
