Macy's loss prevention worker hurt stopping suspected shoplifter at Chapel Hills Mall

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Macy's worker was slightly injured in an altercation with a suspected shoplifter on Monday night.

Colorado Springs Police said a man attempted to leave Macy's at the Chapel Hills Mall at 7:45 p.m. without paying for an item.

Officers said a store loss prevention worker confronted the man and there was an altercation. The loss prevention worker got a cut on his lip, but managed to detain the suspect until officers arrived.

Police said the man initially gave a fake name, but eventually told them who he was.

Dustin Harper was arrested on two outstanding warrants and a new robbery charge.
