Lyons home to be demolished due to September 2013 flooding damage

LYONS, Colo. - A home in Lyons will be demolished on Tuesday morning.

The home on Apple Valley Road was damaged in the September 2013 floods.

Boulder County said a team of experts assessed the extent of the damage and determined the structure could slide into the St. Vrain River, making it a significant risk to people downstream. That is why the home is being demolished and removed.

Boulder County and Larimer County are demolishing homes in this situation.
