GEORGETOWN, Colo. - Loveland Ski Area is opening Tuesday for the 2012-2013 season.

Opening day visitors will be able to ski a one mile, top-to-bottom run covered with an 18-inch base. Skiers and riders will drop nearly one thousand vertical feet via the Catwalk, Mambo & Homerun trails.

"Thanks to the long hours and hard work of our snowmaking crew, we are ready to kick off the 2012-13 season on Tuesday morning," said Rob Goodell, director of business operations. "We are very proud of the conditions we will offer our guests on Tuesday. "

This is Loveland's 75th anniversary season.

Loveland is Colorado's second ski resort to open for the 2012-2013 season. Arapahoe Basin opened last week.
