LONGMONT, Colo. - A Longmont thief stole a pickup truck with a 5-month-old black lab puppy inside on Thursday.

The truck, but not the dog, were recovered Saturday.

Steve Knutson of Longmont told 7NEWS his truck was stolen from his business, Diagonal Tire and Alignment, in the 800 block of First Avenue Thursday evening.

Knutson’s dog, a 5-month-old black lab puppy named Cheyenne, was lying on the front seat of the truck at the time.

On Saturday, the truck was recovered in Fort Collins but there is no sign of the dog.

Mark Edward Cittadino, 42, was booked into the Larimer County jail for investigation of aggravated motor vehicle theft, theft and criminal mischief.

Cittadino said he took the dog to Denver and sold it, Knutson says.

A handwritten receipt was inside the cab of the truck that indicated the the dog was sold for $120.

"If you paid any money for it, I would give you back the money you paid for it, no questions asked," said Knutson. " I'll pay you back what you lost."

The puppy is solid black except for a few white hairs on her chin, and her belly is still shaved because she was spayed recently. She is microchipped and weighs 40 to 50 pounds.

Anyone with information about Cheyenneis asked to call Longmont police at 303-651-8501.
