The American Veteran Show is the brainchild of KOA's Steffan Tubbs.
"A soundbite or two just isn't enough," Tubbs told Denver7. "That community that didn't really have a voice has one now."
The show is an hour long, a combination of pre-taped interviews with veterans, vet organizations, or people involved in the veteran community.
Mike Clem served in South Korea in the 1970s. He listens every week.
"I think that's the great thing about the program is they identify problems and how to get assistance in some cases," Clem said.
"They may learn about an alternative therapy or a name or two of an organization they can get involved with," Tubbs added.
Things like assistance with VA benefits, treatment options for PTSD, or even just volunteer organizations.
Clem heard about the Honor Bell Foundation on the show. He now volunteers with them as an honor guard at military funerals.
"I will feel like we succeeded in what we're trying to do if one person has taken one thing that they've heard to seen and make a different or better for themselves that's a win," Tubbs said.
"People care. Memorial Day or not, people care," he added.
