LITTLETON, Colo. – An assistant coach for a Littleton Youth Hockey team was released from his duties after a video surfaced on social media showing him delivering a profanity-laced pre-game pep talk to his players.
The Littleton Hockey Association removed the volunteer, whose name is not yet known, as the assistant coach of the Bantam A. Black hockey team Friday after the association learned of the incident through a complaint from USA Hockey.
The assistant gave the speech on Oct. 6 as the team was preparing to play against the Green Mountain Fall, a Green Mountain youth hockey team.
The video starts out with the assistant coach telling the youth players huddled outside the locker room: “You’re going to beat them three to none! I want to see you sticking your hands up these guys a---s and work them like a f---ing’ puppet!”
Toward the middle of the minute-long video, the assistant coach screams to his players: “F--- Green Mountain! F--- their coaches! F--- their wives!” At which point, people off camera can be heard telling the coach “they can hear it.”

The video surfaced on social media last week and published on Deadspinover the weekend. The sports blog also published the Littleton Hockey Association’s official response to the video, which claims the volunteer coach apologized for the rant.
"I was made aware of this situation in October through an email with what others believed was said from outside the locker room. Upon review, I immediately suspended the assistant coach. He was very embarrassed and issued a letter of apology to the opposing team and apologized to his team.” the association’s official statement, written by Brian TenEyck, read.
Additionally, the Littleton Hockey Association told Denver7’s Sally Mamdooh the association “takes pride in providing a safe place for players, and the video is not a representation of our association.”
A representative of the association told Denver7 it would provide additional training resources to its coaches and players.
