Level 3 Communications in Broomfield agrees to pay federal fine of nearly a million dollars

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Level 3 Communications company of Broomfield has agreed to pay a nearly $1 million federal fine because of poor service to rural areas.
The Federal Communications Commission says people in small communities are having problems with long distance calls. The company has agreed to improve service or face more fines.
According to the Denver Post, the company says new standards will help improve service.
