LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Police are investigating a shooting near a school in Lakewood that killed a man, according to Steve Davis with Lakewood Police.
The 21-year-old victim was shot outside an apartment building this morning.
The shooting happened at an apartment building at West 12th Avenue and Yarrow Street.
Lakewood police detectives have not released the man’s identity pending the notification of relatives.
Witnesses indicated to police that there was a dark, possibly black Dodge Durango seen leaving the area after the shooting.
Lakewood police were questioning three suspects who were taken into custody after leading Denver police on a pursuit that ended in the 2800 block of South Shoshone Street in Englewood this afternoon. Police had a black Dodge Durango cordoned off.
Police said additional details including identities, pictures and charges on the three suspects will not be released before Friday.

Jefferson County Open School is just south of the intersection and briefly went on lockout after the shooting. School officials lifted the lockout order at 10:30 a.m.
