4 injured in 2-alarm Lakewood apartment fire

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Four people were injured after a fire broke out in a three-story apartment building in Lakewood Friday evening.

The two-alarm fire was reported around 8 p.m. on the top floor of the building on West Jewell Avenue and South Depew Street in Lakewood.

Two people were taken to a hospital, according to Mark Watson, Denver Fire Department spokesman. Two other people had minor injuries were treated at the scene.

West Metro Fire was aided by Denver Fire in battling the blaze.  It was brought under control at 9 p.m.

At least half of the building is uninhabitable.

No cause for the fire has yet been announced.
