DENVER - A pocket knife was found at Denver's Munroe Elementary School Tuesday morning.
The Denver Police Department confirmed Thursday that officers were called to the campus after it was reported that a student brought a weapon to school.
"Fortunately, the situation was resolved quickly and safely, and the object was confiscated immediately without incident," Principal Abigail D. Brown said in a letter to parents.
School officials said the student admitted to having a pocket knife in his shoe.
The school was on lockdown during the investigation, police confirmed.
The child is under the age of 10 and investigators said they left disciplinary action up to school officials.
The school district said the student is facing discipline under DPS' policy.
No one was hurt in the incident, Brown said.
