ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- The man accused of going on a deadly shooting spree in a Centennial neighborhood was back in court Thursday morning.

Kevin Lyons pleaded not guilty to all fourteen counts he now faces, including first-degree murder.

His attorney also said they plan on introducing evidence regarding Lyons’ mental health status. The defendant was ordered Thursday to undergo a mental evaluation.

Lyons is accused of shooting his wife and two neighbors on April 4, 2016. One of the neighbors, Dr. Kenneth Atkinson, was killed. Lyons' wife and second neighbor suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Lyons was arrested minutes after the shooting.

District Attorney George Brauchler has not made a decision yet on if he will pursue the death penalty in this case.
