Kayaker's body pulled from Arkansas River in Fremont County, authorities say

Death marks 4th on river in 13 days

WELLSVILLE, Colo. - Authorities say a man's body was pulled from the Arkansas River near Wellsville in Fremont County on Monday.

Capt. Don Pinover of the Fremont County Sheriff's Office said a driver traveling on Highway 50 spotted the body along the river, The Denver Post reported.

According to Pinover, the body is that of a 63-year-old Saguache County man, who was found wearing a wetsuit, life vest and a helmet. He was believed to be kayaking upstream in the Salida area before his death. 

An inflatable kayak was found near the man's body.

The victim's name has not been released.

The man's death marks the fourth on the river in the past 13 days.
