DENVER - Denver police are investigating the apparent shooting death of a juvenile in the southwest part of the city.
According to spokeswoman Raquel Lopez, officers responded to the shooting Saturday around 3:50 a.m. When they arrived to the 5200 block of West Bates Avenue, they found a juvenile male who appeared to have been shot.
The victim was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. The cause of death and the identity of the victim will be confirmed by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Lopez said a white vehicle is believed to be involved in the shooting and was seen rushing away from the area before officers arrived. Anyone with information about the shooting or the white vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
