GOLDEN, Colo. - Lookout Mountain residents fighting expansion of a church along a scenic highway west of Golden have won a court victory.

District Court Judge Stephen Munsinger rejected a decision by county commissioners to approve a special-use permit for Activation Ministry International. The judge ruled the county didn't follow the area's comprehensive master plan.

The permit would have allowed the church to expand a 9,000-square-foot building into a regional mission center more than three times larger.

According to the Denver Post, residents say the expansion would increase traffic and congestion.
