DENVER - "Jack" Elway, son of Broncos executive John Elway, allegedly tore out pieces of his girlfriend's hair and pushed her to the ground during a fight Saturday.
John "Jack" Albert Elway III's girlfriend told police the couple had a verbal argument while driving westbound on W. Colfax Ave. at 1:40 a.m, according to the arrest affidavit. She told the officers that Elway stopped the car at the intersection with N. Lipan St., got out of the car and pulled her out of the car by her hair. The force allegedly pulled out some of her hair extensions and real hair.
"(She) attempted to stand up and get back in the car but Elway pushed her down to the ground again," the affidavit states.
The girlfriend had scrapes on both of her knees and told the officers she was in pain from the assault.
Police wrote that Elway had fled through the Auraria Campus before officers arrived, but left his California driver's License behind in the car.
Elway was later found and arrested at his home, the affidavit said. He was later released from the Denver jail on a $550 bond.
The contents of the affidavit were first reported by our partners at The Denver Post. His next court date is Thursday.
