Jefferson County deputies investigating whether chemicals dumped near Harriman Lake

Deputies: Possible meth lab components dumped

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - Deputies were called out to a possible hazardous materials situation in Jefferson County on Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff's Office said it looks like someone dumped several jugs with liquids at Quincy Avenue and Nelson Street, near Harriman Lake.

Deputies tweeted: "Possible meth lab components 'dumped' near lake."

The jugs were found overnight by a jogger in the area.

Officials said deputies took precautions because they didn't know what was in the jugs.

Eastbound Quincy Ave., was closed at Nelson Street, west of Kipling during the investigation, according to 7NEWS reporter Jayson Luber.
