BOULDER, Colo. - A driver involved in a head-on collision that killed two people in Louisville has been sentenced to one year in jail.
The Daily Camera reports Cassie Tafoya pleaded guilty Friday to careless driving resulting in death and was sentenced.
The crash happened June 27. Tafoya told police she had been using or reaching for a phone when she drifted into the other lane and collided with a pickup truck.
Ocatvio De La Torres-Reyes and 14-year-old Leslie DeLaTorre were in the truck and were killed. De La Torres-Reyes' son, who was 6 at the time of the accident, was injured. Police say they don't think anyone in the pickup truck wore a seat belt.
Tafoya apologized in court.
