Westbound Interstate 76 open after semi wreck near Federal during morning rush

DENVER - Westbound Interstate 76 reopened at about 9:15 a.m. after a jackknifed semi truck shut down that side of the freeway during the morning rush hour.

The semi blocked all westbound lanes at about 6 a.m.

Authorities turned stuck drivers around, using the highway on-ramp to exit back to Federal Boulevard.

A large tow truck cleared the semi from the highway at 6:50 a.m., however the fuel had to be cleaned up before the lanes could reopen, 7NEWS Traffic Reporter Jayson Luber said.
