LYONS, Colo. - Police say the woman who robbed a pharmacy in Lyons on Monday took her baby with her.
Investigators said Abigail Jo Johnson, 35, took her 9-month-old baby with her to the St. Vrain Pharmacy.
Detectives said Johnson left the baby in a pickup truck during the crime.
Witnesses said a woman was armed with a large handgun when she demanded prescription medication. She got the meds, left the store and drove off in a pickup truck with a camper shell, said Cmdr. Heidi Prentup of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.
Photos of the woman were released to the local media.
Prentup said a woman recognized the suspect as her neighbor, called Johnson and convinced her to turn herself in.
Deputies said Johnson has been charged with aggravated robbery, felony menacing, theft of an at risk adult and two counts of child abuse.
Deputies said Johnson was charged with two counts of child abuse because of the baby left in the car and because a second child was in the pharmacy.
*Editor's note: We initially reported that the child inside the pharmacy was also Johnson's child, that was incorrect.
