LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Arapahoe County sheriff's investigators are exploring a possible tie between arson fires that destroyed 16 vehicles in Lakewood and a fire at the Woodhaven Apartments in Arapahoe County -- both incidents happening early on the morning of Oct. 22.
The fire at Woodhaven Apartments broke out about 3:30 a.m. in Arapahoe County, just southeast of Denver.
Firefighters rescued 14 residents, including one person who was found unconscious, at the apartment complex at 2450 S. Quebec St. Sheriff's investigators are wondering if the current fires are linked to two fires at Woodhaven in June.
At 4:22 a.m. on Oct. 22 and 13 miles northwest of the Woodhaven fire, someone set the first of four fires over a two-hour period in the neighborhood around Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, West Metro Fire Rescue officials said.
The fires were set in cars and eventually 15 vehicles and a motorcycle were damaged or destroyed.
Anyone knows anything about the Lakewood arsons is asked to call West Metro Fire at 303-989-4307 or the Lakewood Police Dept. at 303-987-7111.
