Ice blamed for multiple crashes Thursday on I-70, C-470, I-225, I-25

Icy conditions are being blamed for multiple crashes on Thursday morning.

-- I-70 & Brighton

A driver spun out on westbound Interstate 70 near Brighton around 7:20 a.m.

Video from AirTracker 7 showed the vehicle pointed head-on into a concrete barrier.

Paramedics were called and took the driver to the hospital. No details were available on the driver's injuries.

-- I-70 & Sheridan

A driver apparently lost control on Interstate 70 Thursday morning, went over the guardrail and crashed into a fence.

The accident happened around 6:10 a.m. on eastbound I-70 near Sheridan Boulevard.

7NEWS traffic reporter Jayson Luber said the right two lanes were blocked by emergency equipment working to rescue the driver and recover the vehicle. The crash was cleared at about 7:30 a.m.

-- I-70 & Kipling/Ward

Officers were on scene of a crash on eastbound I-70 at 7 a.m. The crash after Kipling was tying up traffic back to Ward Road, according to Luber.

-- C-470 & Lucent

A vehicle rolled on eastbound E-470 near Lucent around 6:15 a.m. That crash backed up traffic to Santa Fe.

-- I-225 & Colfax

AIRTRACKER7 found two separate crashes on southbound I-225 near Colfax. In one crash, officers found two vehicles that had collided. One vehicle was pointed in the right direction, while the other must have spun because it was pointed in the wrong direction, against the guardrail. Both vehicles were in the snowpack.

The second crash involved a bus and a vehicle.

-- More crashes

At least one other crash was being reported on southbound I-25 between 6th Avenue and Alameda.

Luber said there were more crashes Thursday morning at 6:30 a.m. than Wednesday morning in the falling snow.
