THORNTON, Colo. -- The husband of a Legacy High School bus driver killed in a tragic crash at DIA says she had a “very enlarged heart” and may have had a heart attack before the crash.

Josh Chopper said the coroner’s office told him new information about wife Kari Chopper’s health following the autopsy conducted this week.

Chopper died in the accident that left 18 others hurt Sunday afternoon after the bus slammed into a concrete pillar.

Josh Chopper said he will be at Friday's game for a special tribute to his wife.

The community has donated nearly $20,000 for her memorial service expenses.

The memorial services are going to be held Monday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Crossroads Church, located at 53 East 128th Ave. in Thornton.

“This is going to be an open Memorial so that everybody that has ever been touched by my beautiful wife can come by and pay their respects and have their final goodbyes,” Josh Chopper posted on Facebook. "I would love it if we could make this the biggest most beautiful thing for the most beautiful woman that God had put on this Earth.”
