DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. - Human remains found by hunters in September have been identified as a missing man, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Elk hunters found the remains Sept. 28 on a mountainside in rural Jefferson County, a few miles from Deckers.
Five weeks later, a vehicle was found abandoned on Platte River Road near Highway 67. Investigators determined the owner was Terry LeMay. However, they were unable to find LeMay and reported that he might be missing.
With the help of DNA, investigators have now determined that the remains found in September were LeMay.
"This case is now closed and no foul play is suspected," the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.
