House fire in heavily wooded area of Golden prompts emergency alert calls to nearby residents

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - A house fire in a heavily wooded area of Golden prompted emergency alert calls to 19 nearby residents Monday morning.

The two-story home at 33779 Robinson Hill Rd. was engulfed in flames when Golden Gate Fire Department crews arrived, according to Jacki Kelley with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Because of the gusty winds, firefighters sent an emergency message to the nearby homeowners warning them about the situation.

Kelly said the fire spread a bit, but firefighters were about to contain the fire by 11 a.m.

However, firefighters had to ask for help to finish putting out the fire inside the structure.
