EVERGREEN, Colo. - More than 25 firefighters and six fire trucks quickly put out a house fire in Evergreen early Monday morning, officials reported.
Neighbors on Histead Drive reported the fire just before 2 a.m., Evergreen Fire Rescue tweeted. The fire was about a mile away, on Valley Drive, and crews had to hike "a while" to get to the fire.
More than 200 people called within two hours to report lightning strikes and request smoke checks, officials tweeted.
"Luckily no one was home and we were able to quickly put out the fire," Evergreen Fire Rescue tweeted.
Fire investigators are on scene working to determine the cause.
